Two permanent galleries were established and will be evolving though the years as families share their mementos of the areas history.

Dinner Table Feast for the Eyes.

Donated by Betty Carpenter and the Cathlapootle Gem Society. This exhibit is an extraordinarily creative display of gems, rocks and fossils! Always a hit with all ages.

Barbara Barnhart of the La Center Museum Association gives a tour of the La Center Historical Museum and talks about some of the items on display.


V olunteering is a lot of fun. You can experience learning, family fun and social networking all in the space of an hour or two. If you are looking for an interesting weekend pastime contact The La Center Historical Museum and learn more abouve volunteering.

Volunteer for an hour, two hours or just a few times a year. Get the whole family involved for a fun group activity to do together. Be a part of the community and share your time, energy and ideas with our organization. The La Center Museum is open the first and third Saturday's of every month from noon until 4 pm. There are additional special events throughout the year, as well. So stop by and learn more about us, let us know what amount of time you can offer and join the fun of sharing La Center area history, family stories, significant historical events, and getting involved with any of our special events.
